Lung Foundation New Zealand is a non-government organisation dedicated to promoting healthy lungs
and early detection of life limiting lung disease, including lung cancer.
Lung cancer is NZ's
biggest cancer killer and sadly, five kiwis every day die of lung cancer.
The Lung Foundation
is devoted to supporting people affected by lung disease and provides a voice for patients and their
families. Our cause is dedicated to saving lives.
Lung Foundation NZ advocates on a range of
issues, including; access to more effective funded treatments, more support for patients and their
families, educating to end stigma, increase lung cancer research funding and a commitment to making
Aotearoa a Smokefree nation by 2025.

That New Zealanders will know how to keep
their lungs healthy and they investigate symptoms of lung disease earlier in response to our
advocacy.

Lung Foundation New Zealand is reliant on donations and bequests, including sponsorship and
fundraising to sustain its mission.
The Lung Foundation has a sincere commitment to the ethical
practice of philanthropic fundraising and as such it will:
Guarantee donations will be used for
the purpose for which they were given.
Provide appropriate acknowledgement for all donations
received.
Ensure information about donations remains confidential (unless requested otherwise
by the donor).
Provide the identity of the officers serving on the organisation’s governing
board.
Provide access to the organisation’s most recent financial statements.
Keep all
donors informed of the organisation’s mission.

How to leave a gift in your Will
Leaving a gift to Lung Foundation New Zealand Inc. in your Will is straightforward, in most cases
you don’t need to make a whole new Will,
just follow these four easy steps:
1.
Discuss:
After taking care of your loved ones, you might decide to leave a gift to Lung
Foundation New Zealand Inc. in your Will. It is best to discuss your plans with your loved ones so
they understand the reasons and support your decision.
2. Decide:
A simple way to help our
cause support people affected by lung cancer and other life limiting lung disease, is to give a
percentage of your estate after your other commitments have been met. You can choose a % that works
for you,
it will keep up with inflation and your assets will be divided as you intended.
3. Plan:
Speak with your solicitor. It is usually very straightforward to include a gift to
Lung Foundation New Zealand Inc. in your Will. If you have an existing Will you may just require a
“codicil” that provides an update of your wishes.
4. Please inform us!
We would love
to be able to thank you during your lifetime for remembering Lung Foundation New Zealand Inc. in
your Will. If you choose to, we can also keep you informed about our mission, which is dedicated
to saving lives.
We respect that your Will is private, so unless you specify otherwise, we
will ensure the details of your gift remains confidential between you and Lung Foundation New
Zealand.

I give and bequeath to Lung Foundation New Zealand Incorporated ____% of my estate, free of all duties to be applied to Research/General Purposes (select one). The official receipt of an authorised officer of the organisation shall be a complete and sufficient discharge for the Executor.
