Christian Blind Mission International (New Zealand)
CC26154
cbm (formerly known as the Christian Blind Mission) was founded by the German Pastor, Ernst Jakob Christoffel in Turkey in 1908. His pioneering work, establishing homes for blind children, orphans and children with physical disabilities in the Middle East and Asia, was driven by his deep faith in God. Although two world wars threatened to destroy his work, he did not give up, continuing the work through illness and into old age.
Today cbm continues in his footsteps, as an international Christian development organisation, working to improve the quality of life of the world’s poorest people living with disability.
In 2018, cbm International was active in 55 countries through 371 partners with 525 projects across Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East.
Vision Statement
cbm envisions an inclusive world in which all persons with disabilities
enjoy their human rights and achieve their full potential.
Mission Statement
cbm is an international Christian development organisation, committed to
improving the quality of life of persons with disabilities in the poorest countries of the
world.
Based on our Christian values, and over 100 years of professional expertise, cbm addresses poverty as a cause, and a consequence, of disability, and works in partnership to create an inclusive society for all.
THREE WAYS TO LEAVE A BEQUEST:
Residuary
This is where you give what is left in your estate to cbm after all estate debts and expenses are met and your family has been looked after. It’s the simplest and most effective way to support cbm.
“I give my residuary estate to Christian Blind Mission International (New Zealand), for its general purposes.
I also declare that the receipt of the authorised officer for the time being of the organisation shall be a full and sufficient discharge to my executors/trustees.”
Percentage
You can leave a percentage of your estate to cbm. This gives longevity to your Will as your gift will not be influenced by inflation or changes in the value of your estate.
“I give (insert percentage) % of my residuary estate to Christian Blind Mission International (New Zealand), for its general purposes.
I also declare that the receipt of the authorised officer for the time being of the organisation shall be a full and sufficient discharge to my executors/trustees.”
Specific Gift
This is where you give cbm a specific sum of money or specific property such as real estate or an item of value (such as a painting or insurance policy). This bequest will only take place if you own the asset at the date of your death.
“I give (specific assets such as real estate, shares etc or specific sum of money) to Christian Blind Mission International (New Zealand), free of all duties and encumbrances, for its general purposes.
I also declare that the receipt of the authorised officer for the time being of the organisation shall be a full and sufficient discharge to my executors/trustees.”
Note: cbm New Zealand’s legal name is Christian Blind Mission International (New Zealand).
