Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust

The Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust (ARHT) operates the two Auckland & Coromandel Westpac Rescue Helicopters throughout the region of Greater Auckland, Rodney, the Gulf Islands and the Coromandel. The service is available 24/7, 365 days a year and is FREE to the community.

ARHT has been operating since the 1970's and now attends approximately 1,000 rescues each year. It's missions include search and rescue, medical events (such as heart attacks, strokes, asthma attacks), accidents (such as road traffic crashes, falls from cliffs, horse riding and motocross biking accidents), and inter-hospital transfers.

While donations are hugely important to ensure the crew get to their next mission, a charitable gift left in a Will (bequest) enables the service to purchase life-saving medical equipment, as well as save for future projects which are not funded by the Government.

ARHT are extremely grateful for the support of the community in helping to ensure they are around for many years to come and as such, have created a legacy program called 'Supporter for Life.' Members of this program are invited to exclusive events, such as the biennial Rescue Reunion event (where patients get to meet the crew from their rescue).

It is important to ARHT that legacy members get to see first-hand the type of impact their generosity will have on the lives of their patients.
